How to Colonize an Asteroid
A "probe" is an electronic device which lets us "see" and "taste" and "feel" things in environments in which humans could not survive, or which are impractical for us to visit. It is not possible for a human to survive walking into a devastated nuclear reactor, such as the Chernobyl plant in Russia, nor is it currently possible for humans to walk on the surface of Mars, but we can use electronic devices to place our "eyes" and "ears" into these environments.
