How to Colonize an Asteroid
An electronics test or design bench would not be complete without a variable DC power supply. While most digital circuits require a fixed 5 volt supply, many other circuits and interfaces work at various different voltages. For this reason, we need a power supply which will allow us to vary the output, as oppesed to building an entire new power supply for each different experiment. This section will describe the construction of a simple variable power supply which will supply voltage in the range of 1 to 12 volts dc at a current of one amp.
